Ubah Hassan was born in Somalia in 1987 where she lived
with her family until 1991. Ubah Hassan was once Somalia
refugee, in 1991, because of political unrest, she and her father and little brother
fled to neighboring Kenya,
but they and her mother and little sister were separated. After 10 years of
2001, the whole family gathered in Vancouver,
Canada. In
fact, it was in Canada
that Ubah was discovered as a model.
The meaning of “Ubah” is flower. Ubah became model at
17. She signed with Click Model Management in 2007 and since then she’s
appeared in advertising campaigns, magazine editorials, and on the runways of
various high end designers. In 2008, as a hope star, she and Naomi appear together
in the first book Black Issue in Italy Vogue. Ubah has modeled for Lucky Brand
Jeans and Polaroids. She’s also appeared on the cover of African fashion
magazine, Arise and she was the face of the 2009 Replica Polo Ralph Lauren Ad Campaign.
Ralph Lauren is a luxury lifestyle company of the American
fashion designer Ralph Lauren. Polo Ralph Lauren specializes in high-end
casual/semi-formal wear for men and women, as well as accessories, fragrances,
home (bedding, towels) and house wares. It has its headquarters in Midtown
Manhattan, New York City.
Ubah has walked the runways of Oscar de la Renta, Fake Polo Ralph Lauren, and Chado Ralph Rucci. Ubah has a gorgeous face and it is
her nose, lips, and cheekbones that are her best features. She has a beautiful
face that can be enhanced with make-up or played down and she will still look
stunning. In ad campaigns, she knows how to appear more lighthearted and happy
while she dons an edgier attitude for editorials and the runway.
